Personal Projects.

Davis shares a peek into his creative process displayed as an invitation to view some of the work he has done throughout his time in design school and on his own imaginative spare time. Creativity, color and design come together in works with a more sentimental tone to express what fascination Davis can create when the limits are boundless. Quite simply put, this is an intimate glimpse behind the scenes.

El Torero

Spanish bull fighting culture takes shape in the form of Balmain inspired details.

The Spanish culture is contagious, igniting a primal desire for passion and power.  Nothing is more quintessentially Spanish than the bullfighter from which this collection receives its name.  The masculine energy of the performer is contrasted with the flamenco-like nature of his movements: calculated yet theatrical.  Details of the bullfighters costume are brought to attention to cohesively blend these five looks. Illustrations are of ink, marker and colored pencil.

Transformavera.

Transformation of la primavera as snow covered jackets melt into fern covered pleats.

The culmination of his undergraduate design career, Davis designed and developed his Senior Studio collection shown at NC State's College of Textiles Senior Threads 2016 Fashion Show. Researched in Florence, Italy and inspired by trends forecasted from the A/W 2015 and S/S 2016 runways, Davis incorporates elements of childhood and personal transformation into a collection of looks heavily influenced by Davis’ own quintessential “grandma Gucci chic” style. Romance and pajama parties only seem to exist in symphony with one another in rom-com movies. This collection brings together the pillow fights, make-up love-making, heartbreak and unchangeable affection we have for those with which we fall in love. Inspired by brands like Loveshack Fancy and For Love and Lemons, Davis collaborated with Jaclyn Fotsch and Kaylee Johnston for this sleepwear and intimates collection.

Quilling.

An ancient decorative paper artform utilizing thin strips of paper rolled, coiled, twisted and manipulated into three dimensional shapes combined to create patterns and adornments for cards and invitations. Davis has always had an adept skill when working with fine details. This talent has perfectly transitioned itself between working with quilling paper as a leisure activity to the attention to detail needed to design and manipulate fabric, embroidery and embellishments in the fashion and apparel world.
